How I handle the data you give me when you ask the assistant.
Last updated: Oct 2026
Who is responsible
The data controller is Cesare Emiliano. You can write to me at emiliano.cesare.mail@gmail.com for anything about your data.
What I collect
Before you use the assistant I ask for:
- your first name, last name and phone number;
- your consent to this notice, with the date and the version you accepted.
What I keep while you use it
- your questions and the answers, with the time and the language;
- an anonymous identifier that the site creates in your browser (Firebase Anonymous Authentication), so that you do not have to register again and the limit of questions cannot be reset by reloading the page;
- counters of how many questions each phone number and each network address asked. The network address is never stored: only a one-way code made from it, kept for two days, to stop abuse.
Cookies and sharing
I do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and I do not sell or share your data. The anonymous identifier is stored in your browser because the assistant cannot work without it.
Why, and on what basis
Giving me your data is optional, but without it you cannot use the assistant.
- To let you use the assistant and to enforce the limit of questions per person. Basis: your consent.
- To contact you about roles or projects, if what you asked suggests it. Basis: your consent.
- To keep the service safe from abuse and from automated traffic (the one-way network code, the daily counters, Google reCAPTCHA). Basis: my legitimate interest.
Who else handles the data
I use Google as a processor, with servers in the European Union:
- Google Firebase and Google Cloud (Firestore, Cloud Functions, Authentication) store your details and the conversation and run the assistant;
- Google Vertex AI (Gemini, EU region) receives your question, the last exchanges of the conversation and the public content of this site to write the answer. It does not receive your name or phone number. Under Google Cloud’s terms, this data is not used to train its models;
- Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise (Firebase App Check) checks that the request comes from a real browser and not from a bot; it reads signals from your browser to do so.
How long I keep it
Your details and your conversation are deleted automatically 12 months after your last question. I can delete them earlier if you ask.
Your rights
You can ask me to access your data, correct it, delete it, limit its use, receive it in a common format, or object to its use. To do any of this, write to emiliano.cesare.mail@gmail.com from the email you prefer and tell me the phone number you gave: I will answer within one month.
If you think I handled your data badly, you can complain to the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, garanteprivacy.it).
Withdrawing your consent
You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to emiliano.cesare.mail@gmail.com. I will delete your details and conversation. What was done before the withdrawal stays lawful.
Automated decisions
No automated decision with legal or similar effects is taken about you, and I do not profile you. The assistant only answers questions; any follow-up is a decision I make myself, after reading what you asked.
